Marc van den Muijzenberg

Marc van den Muyzenberg

Director

Marc holds a Master of Arts in History of Leiden University. He has over 15 years experience in initiating and delivering programmes and initiatives intersecting with the public sector, education and business. He has in-depth experience and knowledge of governmental and business cultures, especially in Netherlands, Africa, Eastern Europe and (Central) Asia.

Marc has worked as researcher and lecturer at Leiden University, he was director of the Dutch Institute for Public Administration (ROI), after the merger with HEC he was member of the Executive Board of PBLQ (2008-2013). He established Dutch Academic Services in 2013.

The most recent initiative by Marc is The Mobile Educator Foundation: Training for Syrian Professors currently in the Netherlands.

Arjen van Ballegoyen

Arjen van Ballegoyen

SENIOR EXPERT – Strategy Development

Arjen specializes in all aspects of strategic planning in the public and semi-public sector, ranging from strategy and policy development to the organizational development and HRM training efforts in order to implement the strategic plan.

He has a proven affinity for turning strategy into action, focusing on practical and sustainable implementation strategies that include organizational design as well as budgeting and other support functions.

Arjen holds a degree in law (LL.M) from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands (1993-1997) and a Master of Arts degree in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University, USA (1998-2000).

Roos van Gent

Roos van Gent

PROJECT MANAGER

Roos was a research and administrative intern at Dutch Academic Services in 2015/2016. She carried out a research for her master’s thesis focussing on the soft power of the Netherlands and how this influences the export of skills and knowledge about governance structures.

Roos holds a Magna Cum Laude bachelor degree from Leiden University College The Hague and a Cum Laude degree from her Master of Science in Public Administration at Leiden University.

Roos is involved in setting up a summer school at Leiden University in The Hague and carries out logistical work surrounding the study visits that Dutch Academic Services offers.

Gilles Piters

Gilles Piters

RUSSIAN EXPERT

Gilles holds degrees in both History and Russian Studies. He lived in Russia, travelled to Central-Asia and was submerged in the Post-Soviet states.

As a former president of the study association of Russian Studies he has experiences in critical thinking, working in an organisation and managing its spare resources.

Gilles worked as a student mentor, coaching international students. This has given him outstanding problem solving skills, which are required to work with and support people from different nationalities and backgrounds.

Irene

Irene Brandhorst

PROJECT MANAGER

Irene is an advisor for Dutch Academic Services concerning The Mobile Educator Foundation. She holds a Master of Science degree in International and European Governance and focused her Master thesis on displacement in Libya en Kosovo. Moreover she holds a Bachelor degree in International Business and Languages.

With her expertise in both the private and the public sector, she was able to set up a framework for The Mobile Educator Foundation. She also works on the online organisation of The Mobile Educator and provided web-support for Dutch Academic Services. In the future Irene will be a valuable advisor for future projects of Dutch Academic Services.
